Our Commitment
Unlike profit first business model, we believe in quality first. We designed and build CNC-router and benchtop CNC-mill for enthusiasts who are hobbyist or professional use CNC machines for their everyday works. At JSTEP-CNC we are inspired by Japanese innovation and their quality products. Japanese made aluminum profiles are used for Router Frame. We also used Industrial grade Koyo(JTEKT) bearings for quality and reliability. High quality TOCO-motion hardware are used at all Axis for smooth and precise motion. Individual can use our machines for wood carving, making HDPE( high density plastic) parts, machining aluminum and other soft metal, and start a small businesses. Also suitable for students use at CNC school as well.
Product Overview
We build two different series CNC Routers and one Benchtop CNC Mill. SR series model used slide rail motion hardware, and LR series model used linear motion hardware at all axis. Benchtop CNC Mill also used slide rail motion hardware for all axis movement. Router sizes varies, depend on customer requirement. SR20 and LR20 series model can be build from 500x500mm up to 1200x1200mm (approximately 4'x4'). SR30 and LR30 series model can be build up to 1800x1800mm (approximately 6'x6'). Custom size is also available without a cost. Our products are designed in San Mateo(California - USA), and assembled in Thailand with global components. Individual can assemble the complete system by following clear instructions with or without prior knowledge.
Mechanical Advantages
Router Frame is assembled with 20 Series Aluminum Profile (Made in Japan).
Z-Axis assembly, Frame end-plates, and Gantry plates are CNC milled from 6061 aluminum alloy.
Industrial grade Japanese made Koyo (JTEKT) bearings are installed at all-axis assembly.
Quality TOCO-Motion ballscrew and motion hardware secured smooth and precise motion of all Axis.
Whole gantry is sit on the router frame with equal balance for smooth ride. Ballscrew and motion hardware at gantry are covered to protect debris and chips come out during cutting. Router bed can be raised or lowered, also can be removed for high-Z setup.
Electrical Advantages
Our specially designed controller capable of using open-source software GRBL via USB port, and powerful LinuxCNC via parallel port. Mode switch is installed for selecting GRBL or LinuxCNC. At LinuxCNC mode, user also can use popular application software Mach3 or UCCNC via UC100 (CNCdrive) parallel to USB adapter (see demo).
We offer two different controller models. Standard controller comes with newly designed genuine Toshiba TB6600HG driver based open-loop stepper system. Advanced model controller comes with JMC-Motion closed-loop stepper system. Standard controller is good to be used for wood carving and various non-metal works. Advanced controller is designed for machining soft metal with precision. Controller can be configured for rotary axis (4th Axis) with closed loop stepper system. Also custom order higher cost DMM-Tech Servo system.
Different spindle can be installed at Z-Axis slide. Makita RT0700C router is used for wood working. German made AMB and Suhner spindle are used for aluminum machining. Spindle can be used with relay control (on/off) or VFD 0-10V speed control. DC Volt meter is installed at controller for spindle speed signal inspection.

Machine Safety
Hard wire E-Stop is installed at both controller and router frame. In case of emergency, E-Stop bottom disable the system, and cut the spindle cutter power.
